The dictation software of the ProDictate family and the forms software eMODAT are DEVACON products. In our shop you will find individual programs of the ProDictate family as a licence and as a free trial version, plus a licence for eMODAT. This guide shows which program handles which task and how the programs work together. It is based on the product pages on devacon.eu.

Recording at the workstation: ProRecorder
ProRecorder is the recording application of the ProDictate family for simple dictation workflows. Authors dictate with a USB dictation device or USB dictation microphone, also on thin clients. Within a dictation they can wind, insert, delete and overwrite. Dictation information serves for identification or automatic distribution. Administrators maintain the settings centrally, and they are available at the workstation the next time the program starts.
Playback and transcription: ProPlayer
ProPlayer is the playback module for typists. It plays dictations from ProDictate or other dictation systems. You control rewind, fast forward and stop with a USB foot switch, and the playback speed is adjustable. Drivers for common USB foot switches are included. ProPlayer runs on a Windows PC, on Windows Terminal Server, in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and on thin clients.
Mobile dictation: ProDictate Mobile
ProDictate Mobile records dictations on iOS and Android smartphones. It works like a dictation device with record, insert, rewind, play and overwrite. Photos can be inserted into the dictation. The app transfers dictations to the central dictation server or by e-mail to the typist; further options are HTTP, Dropbox and OneDrive. Without a connection the app works offline and synchronises later.
Reporting: ProReport
ProReport evaluates the dictations in the ProDictate workflow. The module runs in the browser without installation at the workstation and comes with 24 preconfigured standard reports. Reports can be exported as PDF and Excel and sent regularly by e-mail. ProReport is compatible with ProDictate and Dictaphone Enterprise Express Voice (EXV).
Complete solution: ProDictate
The ProDictate family has a modular structure. In addition to the programs above, the complete solution includes ProDictate Online for speech recognition directly at the cursor in any application and the VC Framework, a virtual channel for audio, USB devices and data in Citrix and terminal server sessions. Dictations are distributed according to a defined scheme, and user management is based on Active Directory. An HL7 interface is available for hospital and practice information systems. We define the complete solution together with you; it is not available as a shop item.
Forms instead of dictation: eMODAT
eMODAT is not dictation software. It replaces paper forms such as checklists, reports and work orders with digital forms including photos, signature and GPS. Forms are created in the browser without programming, and the iOS and Android apps also work offline. Interfaces transfer the data to ERP, DMS, CRM and specialist systems. We clarify with you which edition suits your use before you order.
Trial versions before you buy
ProRecorder, ProPlayer and ProDictate Mobile are available as free trial versions. You order them free of charge through the checkout and test the program in your own environment, for example with your dictation microphone or foot switch. All trial versions are listed in the trial versions category.
